Over The Weekend, Sony Announced that Trophies Earned through the PlayStation Network can now be registered and turned into “points” that can be used as store credit on PlayStation’s online store.
Trophies started with the PlayStation 3 and the program applies to most games for the PS3, PS4, and PSVita. Trophies are earned through completing requirements decided by developers, usually with easier objectives awarding a Bronze trophy, Silver for medium, Gold for hard, and a Platinum trophy for completing all of the previous trophies in the game.
The Exchange rate for trophies doesn’t apply to bronze-level achievements, but Silver trophies, Gold, and Platinum all equal various amounts of points. 100 Silver = 100 points, 25 Gold= 250 points, 10 Platinum= 1000 points. 100 points equal $1 USD.
This Program is limited to the United States regions. No word yet on the program moving to other regions. More information can be found at Sony’s rewards site here.
